Terms of Service

1. NeighbourHub is a marketplace

NeighbourHub connects neighbours who want to rent tools with neighbours who own them. NeighbourHub is not the owner, operator, or insurer of any listed tool and is not a party to any rental agreement between users.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18, complete our ID verification, and provide accurate address information. Accounts may be suspended for misuse, fraud, or unsafe behavior.

3. Bookings, payments, and deposits

Payments are processed by Stripe. When you book, the rental fee, a 10% service fee, and a refundable damage deposit are charged to your card. The deposit is released by the owner when the tool is returned in acceptable condition.

4. Owner responsibilities

Owners are responsible for the safety and legality of the tools they list, providing accurate descriptions, and handing over tools in working order.

5. Borrower responsibilities

Borrowers agree to use tools safely, follow manufacturer instructions, and return tools on time and in the condition received. You are responsible for damage caused by misuse, up to and including replacement cost.

6. Prohibited items

No firearms, no weapons, no items that require a professional license to operate, no illegal items.

7. Liability

Use of any tool is at your own risk. NeighbourHub disclaims all liability for injury, property damage, or loss arising from the use of tools rented through the platform. Consider your own insurance coverage.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or applicable law. You can delete your account at any time by contacting support.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; continued use of NeighbourHub after changes means you accept them.
